What we collect
When you use our proposal review service, we collect the project and contact details you give us, the documents you upload (which may include commercial pricing, technical designs and other confidential information), and, if you agree, marketing preferences.
Why we process it — three separate purposes
We keep these separate and never bundle your consent for one into another:
- Service processing — required to review your proposals and deliver your report.
- Marketing — optional; only if you tick the box asking for useful updates.
- Installer introductions — optional; only if you tick the box asking to be introduced to other installers.
Uploaded documents
Proposal documents are stored in a private file store, never made public, and accessed only via short-lived, access-controlled links by authorised reviewers. We do not use your documents to train models or publish public benchmarks unless you separately opt in to anonymised benchmark aggregation.
Retention
We keep raw proposal documents only as long as operationally necessary for your review and any follow-up, per our data retention policy. You can ask us to delete your documents at any time — see our data deletion request form.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask to access, correct, delete or export your data, and withdraw consent for marketing or installer introductions at any time. Contact privacy@commercialsolarcost.co.uk.
Who we share data with
We only share your details with an installer if you've separately opted in to installer introductions, and only with installers reasonably matched to your project — never sold to multiple installers as a priced auction.
